The Addiction Severity Index or ASI is a tool which is used to identify addictive behavior. This assessment is given to those who are suspected of having engaged in drug use. There are many different areas including ones which gather information relating to the patient’s past and current employment, the study of medical history, the background of alcohol and drug use and family history. All of these different parts are meant to effectively gather information on the patient to determine whether or not they have an addiction to drugs and if so just how severe it really is.

The assessment also includes a look at the mental health history. The severity rating goes from o to 9, indicating the severity of each of the problem areas listed. When all of the information is collected and analyzed, an accurate rating can be given regarding the patient’s severity of addiction. The Addiction Severity Index or ASI is commonly used in studies which strive to get results for certain treatments which may prove to be useful as a solution to certain drug addictions.

Aa Membership

The factors that are analyzed become part of a useful tool in mental health settings, addiction clinics as well as hospitals. The Addiction Severity Index can be used to look into potential drug treatments which are then used in certain rehabilitation facilities. The numbers are analyzed to help determine the effectiveness of certain medications in relation to addiction. Psychological problems are studied in relation to chemical issues and personal history.

This assessment is used in various clinical trials. The ASI has been in use for a number of years and continues to help researchers and medical professionals with finding a better solution to addiction treatments, many of which are being discovered and developed each day. It covers a number of factors, both past and present, to come up with a rating that represents the patient’s addiction. Determining the severity of an addiction helps to design the program, treatment and challenges. The many successes in the development of certain addiction solutions is apparent and they were only possible because of the ASI.

When many people think of the effects of alcohol, they think about the physical effects alcohol has on the body, such as liver damage. But there are many psychological effects of alcohol on the body that you may not have thought of. In many cases, the psychological effects of alcohol are much more damaging and painful to you than the effects that you already know about.

Here’s a look at some of the psychological effects of alcohol on your body:

Aa Membership

Depression – Alcohol is a depressant. This means that once it begins circulating in the system, it will decrease the activity within the nervous system of your brain. For this reason as you drink alcohol, you may notice that you start to have more feelings of depression or become entrenched in a depression as a result of the drinking. Many make the mistake of thinking they can ‘drown their sorrows’ by drinking more, and make the feelings of sadness and uselessness go away. If this describes you, what you don’t realize is you are just making the situation worse and causing your depression to become deeper and last longer.

Anxiety – If you are like a lot of people, as you consume large amounts of alcohol you will become stressed from the impact of the drug. While you may find the buzz from the alcohol enjoyable for a while, it will give way to a series of stresses on your system that will manifest psychologically. From a general feeling of discontent to restlessness, nightmares and even overwhelming fear, there are a number of feelings of anxiety that can come of your alcohol usage.

Personality Changes – Have you noticed your family members are treating you differently? It may be because you have changed in how you interact with them. Alcohol can make massive personality that you may not even see. Once you become intoxicated, what were your usual personality traits may change dramatically. You may become selfish, egotistical or even angry about your life and everything in it. Aggression and mood swings are some of the most common traits. These changes are brought on by the alcohol’s effect on serotonin in your body. Serotonin is a chemical in your body that transmits signals relating to mood to your brain. When its job is weakened by alcohol, moods and emotions can get out of control. Another common personality change brought on by alcohol is a deterioration of morals. As alcohol affects the body, it acts to slow the responses of the synapses in the brain. This slowing down of the brain’s circuitry decreases thinking and reasoning. For this reason, when you are intoxicated, you may be willing to do and say things you would not usually do or say if you were thinking clearly.

Obsession – Once you become dependent on alcohol (whether you realize it or not), you will start to become obsessed with drinking. While many think a few drinks are not dangerous, to someone who is alcohol dependent or becoming alcohol dependent, there is no difference between getting those next few drinks, and a drug addict who is looking for their next hit. Your obsession can lead to a loss of other interests in your life and a focus only on how you are going to get another drink, while all along denying there is a problem with your desire for alcohol. Generally, you will not realize you are being pulled in to an obsession until it is too late.

Denial – Just as you would expect in any other type of addict, those who drink a lot of alcohol go through a number of denial issues. If you have heard from those who you love that you may be drinking too much, you really should listen to them. Often, you will not even notice you are becoming more and more intoxicated on a regular basis, because you are too close to the problem. Alcohol dependency is a progressive illness and you may not be able to see what it is doing to you in the same way someone else can.

Just like any other disease, alcohol dependency is a progressive disease. The longer and more you drink, the more pronounced the effects will be on your system.

Additionally, these psychological effects of alcohol are not just felt while you are drinking, or the morning after. They can continue for a number of days or weeks after you have consumed the alcohol.

 The Psychological Effects Of Alcohol

Rahul Nag is the London, England based former problem drinker who was drinking too much but gave up and now found he has an even better time than before. He has developed a solution to help people stop drinking. He also has a free e-book which will explain the effects of alcohol on your body and mind, please visit http://www.alcoholfreesociallife.com

The most powerful weapon against fear and worry is scripture. You can find a scripture that pertains to your circumstances no matter what they are and lean on their power to reassure you. But why are the words of the Bible so much more powerful than others? It’s because the Word of God has been unchangeable down through the centuries, unchangeable and reliable at all times.

The God who delivered the Israelites yesterday will deliver you today and your children tomorrow. God’s love, power and almighty presence are unceasing. What a wonderful and reassuring feeling!

Aa Membership

“For I am the Lord, I do not change.”

- Malachi 3:6

Change happens all around us; day changes to night, the seasons change, and the circumstances of our lives change. One day we may be up and the next day, down. Even those who love us most change as the days, weeks and years pass. God was wise enough to understand that we are human and that change in our lives should be part of the human condition, yet he also gave us certain constants in our lives – yes, there are seasons, but they follow a predictable pattern so that crops can grow and we can appreciate the beauty of nature. Day always follows night so that we can rest when we need to and wake up each day feeling refreshed. There is a constancy to even the changes in our lives that tell us that God’s love is always present.

Knowing that our universe is put together so that we can rely on it to follow a reliable pattern is reassuring. It tells us that God himself is constant in His love for us, so we need not fear. His loving kindness is eternal and never changing. Even as our lives change, jobs come and go, and relationships grow and fade, God is steadfastly loving us and watching over us.

“Give all your worries to God, for he cares what happens to you.”

- 1 Peter 5:7

When something in our lives goes wrong or brings us sorrow, we sometimes tell ourselves, “Don’t worry, this too shall pass.” It is a thought that helps us to feel just a little bit better about the lows in our lives, but when the highs come along, we don’t want to think that they are only temporary. It is reassuring to remember that God has promised to always be there – He is not temporary and His love will never pass away from our lives.

God’s love, power and protection are never-changing and never-ending, no matter what we do or what happens in the universe. We don’t have to tell ourselves that things will change when we think about God – He’s always been there and always will be. God’s mighty presence is with us in all circumstances and conditions, in all places at all times. Any adversity that we face gives God another opportunity for us to experience His great peace, love and understanding. How wonderful that the Lord is so constant – you never have to worry about whether He is there for you or not – He is eternal, just as He has always said.

“Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord is the one who goes before you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor forsake you.”

A lot of people think that in order to have a hot body, one must have a gym membership. The proliferation of advertisements promoting flat tummies are really enticing. But can they really be inspiring? The answer to that would vary depending on the individual’s level of commitment in having lean abs. If one cannot afford those costly health club or gym memberships, what then are the effective workout for abs that can be done at home?

There are two popular exercises that promote flat abdomen. These are the sit-ups and crunches. The main flaw of sit-ups is that it causes more harm to the back and neck area. This actually paved the way for the crunches to be the preferred and most effective workout for abs. Here are some crunches that you can do at home that will help eliminate those unwanted flabs.

Aa Membership

You can also do reverse crunches which is believed to be the most realistic exercise that can help flatten abs. To do this, you must lay on the floor with your face up. Your knees should be bent an a 90 degree angle. You need to place your hands with palms down on the floor beside your hips. Your head and shoulders should be lifted slightly off the ground. The next step is to slowly crunch your lower body off the ground by curling your pelvis back towards your head. Please do not swing back and forth to gain momentum. You should rather concentrate curling on your abs by pulling your legs with the aid of your abs.

You can also do hanging leg raises. You need to hang fro a pull-up bar with a shoulder width grip. Your knees should be slightly bent, then raise your legs until they almost touch the pull-up bar while curling pelvis up. Do not do this exercise with an arched back. You need to focus on the curling up of your pelvis to develop your abs not your hips. If you have shoulder problems, you may have to use hanging elbow straps.

CUNA Life Insurance Company is a division of the CUNA Mutual Group, which offers a variety of financial and insurance services to credit unions and to individuals. The CUNA Mutual Group currently holds about 15.26 billion in assets and employs around 5,500 members. The life insurance division of the company offers two types of insurance- Whole Life and Term. All policies are underwritten by CUNA Mutual Insurance Society which is a Fortune 100 company and has received an AA- rating for claims paying ability.

CUNA Whole Life Insurance

Aa Membership

If you are a member of the CUNA Mutual Group, you and your spouse can qualify for life insurance without the hassle getting a physical exam during the application process. Other advantages are that your benefit amounts are guaranteed to remain the same as are your premium payments; the death benefits are tax free; and a member spouse can purchase a policy even if the member doesn’t have one.

A life insurance policy with CUNA provides your family with long term financial security. As with all permanent life insurance policies cash value accumulates as you remit premium payments. As a policy holder, you have the ability to borrow against the buildup in your cash value should the need ever arise. CUNA life insurance does not require the insured or the beneficiary to pay back the loan. If the insured member dies the benefit payment would be reduced by the loan value, or in the event that you cashed in your policy, the loan amount would just be subtracted from your payout.

CUNA Supplemental Benefits

CUNA Life Insurance Company also offers a wide selection of supplemental benefits that you can purchase along with your main life insurance policy. Their waver of premium benefit must be purchased before the insured reaches sixty. It will provide a waiver of any premiums due (until age 100) if the insured is totally disabled before the age of sixty. If the insured is totally disabled after the age of sixty, it will provide a waiver of benefits until the insured reaches the age of sixty-five.

CUNA’s accidental death benefit rider allows an additional payout if the insured dies from an accidental bodily injury. The amounts vary in accordance with the age of the insured and will max out at 150,000. This rider is not available for any insured over the age of seventy.

The guaranteed insurability rider offered by CUNA provides that the insured will be eligible to purchase additional insurance benefits on specified anniversary dates, without providing proof of insurability up to the age of thirty-seven. To exercise the benefits provided by this option the insured must have also purchased a waiver of premium rider.

CUNA life insurance’s children’s rider insures the lives of the policy holder’s children up to the age of twenty-three. To obtain this rider the parent cannot be over the age of fifty, and the covered child cannot have reached the age of seventeen. The maximum benefit payable under this rider would be ten thousand dollars. When the insured child reaches the age of 23 the rider will convert to a permanent life insurance policy and no proof of insurability will be required by the child. In the event that the parent dies before the child reaches the age of 23, then the rider will convert to a paid in full term policy that will remain in effect until the child reaches the age of 23.

Unlike their term insurance offerings, CUNA’s whole life insurance will cover you until you reach the age of 100. At this point the entire face amount of the policy would be paid to the insured. Death benefits are paid to the named beneficiary in the event of the insured’s death. Your premium amounts will remain level for the policy’s lifetime. If at any time you want to review the terms and conditions of the life insurance policy you can call their toll free number and a one page summary will be mailed to you. CUNA also makes changing your beneficiary a simple task, all you have to do is call their customer service number and request a form.

CUNA Term Life Insurance

CUNA also provides term insurance to cover your family for a specified period of time only. There is no accumulation of cash value, however all death benefits are tax free. CUNA’s term insurance is designed to offer protection of your family’s assets at the various stages of your life. These policies are usually purchased during the times that children are in college, when new mortgages are assumed, or during any time when your family faces a large amount of debt in the event of your death.

CUNA offers term policies in for level premium terms of 10, 15, 20 or 30 years. Level premium means that your premiums will remain the same for the life of the policy. The minimum amount of coverage available is 25,000 and the maximum amount is one million. CUNA will allow these policies to convert over to permanent life insurance policies as long as the conversion is done before the end of the term or before the insured reaches the age of seventy.

There are two riders that can be purchased with your level term insurance. The first is their other insured rider, which allows you to insured up to 9 other people under your policy with no additional policy fee being charged. The next is the waiver of premium rider which will waive premium payments for the remainder of the term if the insured is total disabled and has not reached the age of sixty. If the insured has reached the age of sixty, then the premium amounts will be waived until the insured reaches the age of sixty-five.

CUNA Life Insurance offers its members strong financial backing for its wide variety of life insurance policy options. You can rest assured that in the event of your death your family is well provided for.

Many students these days are pursuing a career in pharmacy. And I can’t blame them. Some advantages of becoming a pharmacist are:

1) Starting salary can be anywhere from ,000 to 0,000 depending on location and need

Aa Membership

2) A pharmacist’s work schedules are flexible. You can work 7 on and 7 off, work during the evenings or work the usual 9-5 job

3) You will come out with less debt compared to other health professional schools.

4) You can become a fully-fledge licensed pharmacist in your early 20s and do not have to complete a residency

5) You won’t have to deal with blood

There are many other advantages to becoming a pharmacist. Above are just a handful of them.

Now, how can you become a pharmacist?

If you are in high school and are interested in pharmacy school, I recommend that you take a look at a few 0-6 years program schools. This program works this way. The high school student applies into this program. As long as the students get the minimum grade point average (GPA) and SAT scores they should be able to get into the program. An interview may be required at some schools, so please check with each individual school. After 2 years of pre-requisite coursework with high marks, the student then proceed into the pharmacy school, where they complete either 3 or 4 years of pharmacy school coursework. Once completed, the student can opt to a 1 year residency or could go out and practice pharmacy immediately.

The shortest 0-6 years program school is University of the Pacific’s (UOP) School of Pharmacy located in Stockton, CA. They offer a program that is as short as 5 years.

Below are some schools that offer 0-6 year programs:

Albany College of Pharmacy, Duquesne University, Florida A & M University, Hampton University Massachusetts – Boston, Northeastern University, Ohio Northern University, Philadelphia, Rutgers University, St. John’s University, St. Louis College of Pharmacy, University of Connecticut, University of Findlay, University of Missouri at Kansas City, University of Rhode Island, University of Texas at Austin, University of the Pacific and University of Pittsburgh

Now if you are a college student or non-traditional student, the road to becoming a pharmacist is similar to a high school student. Basically, you’ll need to complete the pharmacy school requirements, take the Pharmacy College Admissions Test (PCAT – if appropriate) and apply to the pharmacy school of your choice. There are many roadblocks that a student who are applying to pharmacy school may face. These questions include: How do I prepare myself to apply to pharmacy school? What should I major in? What extracurricular activities should I be involved in? Do I need to graduate with a bachelor’s degree? Etc.

How To Get Into Pharmacy School ebook will show you how one student got into the pharmacy school of his choice within 4 short months after applying.

After graduating from pharmacy school, the student is now a fully-fledged pharmacist and only after becoming licensed, by taking the required test for the state the student is interested in practicing in, then he or she can begin working as a pharmacist.

As a pharmacist, you must renew your licensure every 2 years. This licensure process requires the pharmacist to take 30 units of Continuing Education (CE) classes either online or by signing up for a class. Other than this, the pharmacist can enjoy his or her career in the field of pharmacy.

Celebrities and Breast Size – They’re Not as Naturally Blessed as You Might Think

The obsession over cosmetic perfection and, more recently, breast size, has sparked a rash of Hollywood “upsizing” in the breast department. Who’s natural, what cup size are they, and who’s had breast surgery? The answers may or may not be surprising. In other words, you might be shocked at just how much a push up bra can deceive to the tune of 1,2 and even three cup sizes!

Aa Membership

Celebrities – How they Influence What We Want in a Breast Size

What determines the size of a full grown woman’s breasts? Is it primarily environmental or outside influences, or is it all “in the genes”? The final size of a woman’s mature breasts is mostly determined by heredity and can range from very small AA cups to very full EE cups. Breast size varies greatly among women, but the average breast size is a B cup, and all sizes and shapes are normal and healthy, although they may not fit the conventional idea of breast beauty.

For some reason, probably the increasing popularity of breast augmentation surgery and the overwhelming number of female celebrities who are considered sexy who have this breast size, the common perception today is that the perfect size is a C cup. See some famous celebrity breast sizes below, and you’ll see these famous women are as diverse as the rest of us. Although they may all look like they have C cups in the movies or in videos, you’ll see what they’ve really got without the padding, underwire and inserts!

Celebrity Breast Sizes – Does Their Cup Truly Runneth Over?

Jennifer Lopez cup size: Modest B cup

Angelina Jolie boob size: C cup: Hate to break it to you, but these are probably real. Yes, she is genetic perfection in the form of a waif thin body and large breasts, I’m afraid.

Britney Spears breast size: Modest C cup (when she’s not pregnant or is on the slimmer side)

Christina Aguilera: Pre Breast Implants: A cup

Post Breast Implants: Large C cup

Catherine Bell cup size: Large D cup: Not definitive that she has implants, but I suspect she was a fairly busty woman who also had implants, which is why this large breast size looks so natural on her, and yet she doesn’t have a whole lot of sagging for such a large size.

Jessica Simpson bra size: Small D cup: Jessica Simpson is another celebrity that has been puzzled over as to whether she has implants. Some “experts” say yes, and some say she’s natural. I just want to know how she lost all that weight and didn’t lose a bit of breast size. Hmmm…

Jessica Alba bra size: Small B cup: Although Jessica Alba is one of those celebs that has worn many a push up bras and I suspect has also worn gel inserts to change cup size so drastically between films, you can tell she has a natural breast size of about a small B cup. She also has very little body fat, which accounts for her perfectly natural smaller size.

While many of us may not be happy with the appearance of our breasts, it is good to know that they do come in all sizes and shapes, and we can actually improve their appearance – whether it be increasing their size, enhancing the shape and contour of the breast, or adding to the perkiness, firmness and perfect beauty of the female form, if we are not happy with our current breast size and appearance. There are lots of ways to do this. Massage, exercise, supplementation and just an all around good diet are a few of the ways.

It’s just good to know that some of the most beautiful celebrities in the world have either had a lot of help from a plastic surgeon in the breast department, or they are not as large as they are made to look on screen. It goes to show that the most important thing is that you are happy with yourself, and feeling beautiful has much more to do with confidence and other areas other than your breasts.

oooTake your measurements using a soft flexible measuring tapeooo

1. Frame Size

Aa Membership

Your frame size is the diameter around your chest, below your breasts. Measure

around your ribcage directly under your breasts.

2. Breast Size

Now measure around your chest, over and including the fullest part of your breast.

For larger breast, get this measurement while wearing a bra.

How the Measurement Works

1. Frame

The diameter around your chest below your breasts.

2. Bra Size

Add 5 to your Frame size. If the number you get is odd, round up to the next even

number.

For example, if your frame size is 20 inches, when you add 5 to this you get 25

inches. You should therefore round up to the even number, which is 26 inches (bras

only come in even numbers).

3. Breast Size

The diameter around your chest, over and including the fullest part of your breast.

4. Cup Size

The deference between your frame size and bra size, is used to find your cup size.

Cup Size

0 to 1/2 inch AA

1/2 to 1 inch A

1 to 2 1/2 inches B

2 1/2 to 3 1/2 inches C

3 1/2 to 4 1/2 inches D

4 1/2 to 6 inches DD (E)

6 to 7 inches DDD(F)

7 to 8 inches G

To make things easier you can use our Bra Size calculator at http://www.myfirstbra.us/bra_size.htm

When the right bra size still isn’t right !

If your bra still doesn’t feel right, the best thing to is to try on deferent

brands, and vary the size a bit. Make sure the bra strap doesn’t cut into your

shoulders, and make sure your breasts don’t hang out of the bottom, or sides of

the bra. The best rule is, if it just doesn’t feel right, try another bra.

Bra sizes can vary a lot depending on the type of bra, and even the brand. The

best thing to do is go into the changing room, and try on a number of different

bras.

Once you find a bra you like, jump around a little to see if the bra gives you

the proper support, lean forward in the mirror to see if the cups keep your breasts

where you want them to be. A new bra should fasten at the middle or last hook,

because the material will stretch with wear.

The best thing to remember is comfort; a bra that scratchy or tight will drive

you crazy by the end of the school day.

Many people opt for words or sayings to accompany their tattoo image. But sometimes the tattoo words or sayings are the actual image themselves. Here are three examples of popular tattoo words and sayings:

1. “In memory of”

Aa Membership

Obviously this is used to commemorate a lost one, whether it be a relative, a friend, or even a pet. In memory of ink is excellent to get to forever remember someone and pay tribute to them.

Many times the words “in memory of” are accompanied with another design. Common designs include a heart or hearts. Though something more specific and personal that is relevant to the lost individual may be added as well.

2. “Love/Hate”

This is a tattoo saying or wording you don’t see too often anymore, though every now and then you will see some fresh ink with the love/hate lettering. This is most commonly placed on the knuckles, and is usually a stand alone design.

The love/hate tattoo can also be accompanied by an image, usually with a banner below the image reading “love hate”. I’ve seen all kinds of different designs accompanied with this popular tattoo saying.

3. Chinese lettering

This is generally a stand alone tattoo as the lettering itself is usually the actual art and design. Though some wearers will choose to have small lettering accompany a tattoo design.

You can choose whatever saying or symbol you like with the Chinese lettering tattoo, simply by researching the meaning your after, then looking at the lettering representation to find out if it’s to your liking.

Are you tired of not looking good at the beach? Did you already fail the New Year’s resolutions you’ve made this year? Are you worried that you want have the sexy body you deserve in time for summer? If so I want to tell you that you’ve come to the right place. I was once in a situation similar to what you’re experiencing and likely I got out of it. Here are 4 tips to help you on your journey.

Tip #1-

Aa Membership

The first thing you need to do is make a plan of attack. You’re going to experience a drastic lifestyle change and it will be a lot easier if you plan accordingly. You’re going to have to start eating healthier. So you’re going to have to find a healthy eating plan and go to the grocery store and buy the food. You’re going to have to start exercising. If you don’t have access to a home gym then you’re going to have to get a gym membership. By doing these little things you’ll be more likely to succeed.

Tip #2-

The next tip is to start drinking more water. Water is great for a number of reasons but in this short article I am just going to mention a few of them. The first is that water gives you a refreshing feeling. It does a better job than coffee at making you feel energized. Water also doesn’t contain any calories so you can theoretically drink as much as you want and not gain weight. You can compare that to the average can of soda pop that contains 100 calories. The problem is that most people drink more than one can or bottle per day.

Tip #3-

The next thing you should be doing is eating a healthy breakfast. First and foremost eating breakfast is important to get your metabolism up and going again. After you’ve taken a long break from eating your metabolism basically shuts off. If you want to get it going again to burn calories you need to eat in the morning. The other benefit is that if you start your day healthy you’ll be more likely to eat healthy and build healthy habits throughout the rest of the day.

Tip #4-

The last tip is to make sure you’re doing the right exercise. If you have a whole bunch of fat covering your belly you need to do some type of cardio exercise. Start off slowly and increase your exercise intensity every week. It’s important to write down exactly what you do so when it comes time to work out again the next week you’ll have a log of what you did. If you’re trying to build up your abs you need to make sure you’re using weight for any of the exercises you’re doing. Just by putting 5-10 pounds on your chest will create the extra resistance your abs need. If you follow these tips you’ll see success quicker than you ever thought possible.

Slash Belly Fat Immediately! Get Rock Hard, Ripped 6-Pack Abs With These 4 Tips: See Instant Results

I’ve created a 6-Pack Program for anyone who would like to get excellent results in 21 days. Click Here to get check out this awesome program.
